Cai Tung Yin

Cai Tung Yin is currently a student at St. Francis Xavier’s College, where he serves as the Chairman of the school’s Chinese Orchestra. His musical journey began under the guidance of Mr. Yuen Kin Hei, and he later continued his sheng studies under the tutelage of Mr. Kwok Shing Cho.


In 2021, Cai joined the Hong Kong Young Chinese Orchestra (HKYCO) under the auspices of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra. He has participated in numerous high-profile performances, including the 73rd National Day Celebration, the RTHK ‘95 Years of Public Service Broadcasting - Top Ten Chinese GoldSongs Award Presentation Concert’, and the 2025 Spring Reception of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government (LOCPG). He also garnered critical acclaim for his solo performance of the classic piece Jin Dio during the ‘HKYCO Afternoon Concert’ series.


Cai has garnered numerous accolades, including the First Prize at the 2025 “Silk Rhyme Cup” International Folk Instrumental Music Performance in Xi’an and Second Prize at the 2023 Magnolia International Music Festival. He also achieved repeated success at the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival, including first place in the 71st Sheng Solo - Junior and third place in the 75th and 76th Sheng Solo - Advanced.
