From the natural beauty of wind, rain and flowing water to the legacy of traditional instruments, East Asian music is a tapestry of shared inspiration—now evolving in the modern era. At Hong Kong Week 2025@Seoul, the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra (HKCO) joins celebrated Korean musicians to showcase music’s unifying power and deep cultural connections. The concert features Ng Cheukyin’s Ji (excerpt) with Wizard Children’s Choir; Wang I yu’s Reeds, uniting organ and sheng; an improvisation with Korean pansori artist (Kim Suin); and Tan Dun’s Northwest Suite, evoking the vast landscapes of the Loess Plateau. A celebration of artistic kinship.
